Insta bio line breaks

Why the blank lines vanish

When you paste text into the bio box, Instagram trims lines that contain nothing. The trick is to put an invisible character on each blank line so it no longer counts as empty. This tool uses a braille blank, which displays as nothing on every phone we have tried, and also strips stray spaces at the end of lines that can push text onto the wrong row.

Making 150 characters work

• Line one says what you do. “Wedding florist, Manchester” beats a quote.
• Line two says why to follow. New work every week, behind-the-scenes, offers.
• Line three is the action. Book, order, read, watch: point at the link.

Emoji count as one or two characters each depending on the emoji, so the counter here counts what you will actually use.

If the spacing still collapses

Paste into the bio from the Instagram app rather than the website, and make sure you copied from the “Ready to paste” box, not your own draft. Some third-party keyboards strip unusual characters; switching to the standard keyboard for the paste usually fixes it.

A bio that converts visitors

People who arrive from a hashtag or a share decide in a couple of seconds whether to follow. A bio that answers who, what and where, plus a profile with a few good posts, does more for your follow rate than any trick. If the count is the thing putting people off, our 250-follower pack is a light fix, and free growth habits do the rest.
